Mount Elgon & Sipi Falls
Waterfalls, coffee farms and a giant volcano. On the slopes of Mount Elgon, an old volcano with one of the largest calderas in the world, the three waterfalls of Sipi tumble off a green escarpment. It is a cool, scenic escape for walkers.
Guided hikes link all three falls through farms and villages, and coffee tours show how Bugisu arabica is grown, roasted and brewed. Mount Elgon National Park offers forest day hikes and multi-day treks to Wagagai peak (4,321 metres).
Sipi pairs well with Jinja for an eastern Uganda adventure.
