Murchison Falls National Park
Where the Nile explodes through a gorge. Uganda's largest national park is split by the Victoria Nile, which squeezes through a gap only about seven metres wide at Murchison Falls before thundering down into the gorge below.

North of the river, open savannah holds Rothschild's giraffe, elephant, buffalo, lion and Uganda kob. A launch cruise upstream to the base of the falls passes hippos and crocodiles, and the Top of the Falls walk lets you feel the spray.
On the way from Kampala, most of our trips stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track white rhinos on foot, the only place in Uganda to see them in the wild.
Highlights
- Launch cruise to the foot of the falls
- Top of the Falls hike
- Game drives for giraffe, elephant and lion
- Shoebill search in the Nile delta
- Rhino trekking at Ziwa en route
